The Dunwells have found favour with audiences across the world having performed live and toured extensively in the USA, Europe and the UK as well as having supported artists including Mumford & Sons, Elbow, Tom Jones, Scouting for Girls and Bryan Adams on UK tours. Their daily live streamed shows during the 2020 lockdown were a saviour for an audience on both sides of the Atlantic, building an even stronger and more committed fan base.
In 2018 Americana-UK’s review of ‘Edgeland’ concluded with a summary that could have been applied to any of Richey’s work over the last 30 years or so.” This is an album of well written and stylishly presented songs. Skilled musicianship and a rich-toned voice have produced work of atmosphere and quality. It’s country music with a pop sensibility and a traditional backbone. A great listen and a great singer, singing her own songs.”
And, from within the industry this from Ben Glover “Kim and I have been writing and singing together for a few years as we’re both based in Nashville. I’ve been a fan of hers since the first time I heard her sing on ‘Come Pick Me Up’ (Ryan Adams). She’s one of the best singers I’ve ever had the chance to work with.”
In recent years they have supported Lukas Nelson &
POTR (USA), Hayes Carll (USA), Iris DeMent (USA), Willie Watson (USA), Eilen Jewell (USA), Cory Branan (USA) and Kevin Welch (USA) and completed national and international tours in support of their three LPs, including sophomore album, Before Darkness Comes A-Callin’, which received four-star reviews in Rolling Stone, The Australian and The Music. A Weeping Willows performance, whether live on location or caught on tape will always delight.
“…a mature, courageous and beguiling experience.” – No Depression (USA)
“…on the way to making some serious waves in Americana.” – AmericanaUK (UK)
“…stunning acoustic guitar work, heavenly harmonies, and a haunting melody rooted in
American Gothic.” – Pop Matters (USA)
★★★★ – Rolling Stone, Rhythms Magazine, The Music and The Australian.
This unique approach won them the title of “Best European Bluegrass Band 2018” at the prestigious La Roche Bluegrass Festival in France. Rupert Hughes (guitar) and Evan Davies (mandolin), write songs steeped in personal experience whilst drawing from a wide pool of influences ranging from old-time to psychedelia. American-born fiddler Niles Krieger and jazz bassist Sam Quintana add fiery instrumental skills to the mix, launching the band’s arrangements into the stratosphere.
Together, their sound is both boldly contemporary and soothingly familiar, taking time-honoured traditions to new places with a fresh perspective. Flock to the herd, you won’t be disappointed.
“Traditional, inventive, tight and sharp… for those who think they don’t like bluegrass this could be the point they change their minds.”

(The Best of George Egg)
George Egg cooks food while making you laugh. In the last half-decade he’s toured three shows (‘Anarchist Cook’, ‘DIY Chef’ and ‘Movable Feast’) and cooked over a thousand dishes, all of them in front of a live audience, none of them with a kitchen. This is the best bits, the most delicious jokes and the funniest food. Three meals, cooked live, with comedy and you even get to try it at the end.
As seen on Steph’s Packed Lunch (C4) and heard on Loose Ends (BBC R4) and online with over 10 million views.
“a culinary Bill Bailey with chopping boards instead of keyboards” The Scotsman
“There is a mischievousness about Egg’s humour that is deeply lovable” The Guardian
“a hilarious show with surprisingly good food” The Times
The pair began to co-write songs for David’s band FineLines and the duo idea came out of that. Inspired by the elegant simplicity of two guitars, two vocals the initial inspiration was The Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel but more contemporary acts like The Milk Carton Kids have also been a major influence. They also share a love of Western Swing and old school roots country music in particular the songs of Hank Williams. Those inspirations have fed into their original songs as well as having informed their choice of cover versions.
Unofficially known as The Long Ridge Riders, there’s something of a country-ish campfire tinge to the atmosphere they create. Theirs is a duo that works perfectly: they both sing, they both write, David plays most of the difficult bits and Mark does most of the talking!
BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards followed along with critical acclaim. In 2016 Blair released on his own label (Gilded Wings) and received wider acclaim and BBC Radio 2 playlisting for singles ‘The Egoist’ and ‘356’. Appearances at Glastonbury and the major Folk Festivals followed, along with breakthrough tours of Australia. Blair is now firmly established as a household name amongst respected British songwriters.
