The Dunwells are a successful Leeds based indie-folk-pop band with strong vocals, powerful melodies and heartfelt lyrics. Their debut album ‘BLIND SIGHTED FAITH’ was released to global acclaim and led to extensive touring in the US and national live TV appearances on both sides of the Atlantic.

The Dunwells have found favour with audiences across the world having performed live and toured extensively in the USA, Europe and the UK as well as having supported artists including Mumford & Sons, Elbow, Tom Jones, Scouting for Girls and Bryan Adams on UK tours. Their daily live streamed shows during the 2020 lockdown were a saviour for an audience on both sides of the Atlantic, building an even stronger and more committed fan base.

Nashville based country singer-songwriter Kim Richey has written for and with some of the biggest names in the business, commanding their respect and admiration for her heartfelt melodies, story-telling and humour.

The Weeping Willows are a couple of old souls, steeped in Bluegrass tradition and draped in Gothic Americana imagery. They regale their audiences with stories of sunshine and romance, God and The Devil, murder and decay. Real music!

Bluegrass band The Often Herd transcend the traditional boundaries of the genre. Although they might resemble an American string band, complete with driving energy, tight vocal harmonies and dazzling instrumental interplay, their vibrant, transatlantic sound is deeply coloured by their surroundings; the striking natural and industrial landscapes of Northern England.

This unique approach won them the title of “Best European Bluegrass Band 2018” at the prestigious La Roche Bluegrass Festival in France. Rupert Hughes (guitar) and Evan Davies (mandolin), write songs steeped in personal experience whilst drawing from a wide pool of influences ranging from old-time to psychedelia. American-born fiddler Niles Krieger and jazz bassist Sam Quintana add fiery instrumental skills to the mix, launching the band’s arrangements into the stratosphere.

George Egg cooks food while making you laugh. In the last half-decade he’s toured three shows (‘Anarchist Cook’, ‘DIY Chef’ and ‘Movable Feast’) and cooked over a thousand dishes, all of them in front of a live audience, none of them with a kitchen. Broadcaster, writer and musician Mark Radcliffe met David Boardman a few years ago when he moved to Knutsford and they found each other in the Builder’s Arms. David is a seasoned singer/songwriter, guitar teacher and fine artist. This is a duo that works perfectly: they both sing, they both write, David plays most of the difficult bits and Mark does most of the talking!

The pair began to co-write songs for David’s band FineLines and the duo idea came out of that. Inspired by the elegant simplicity of two guitars, two vocals the initial inspiration was The Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel but more contemporary acts like The Milk Carton Kids have also been a major influence. They also share a love of Western Swing and old school roots country music in particular the songs of Hank Williams. Those inspirations have fed into their original songs as well as having informed their choice of cover versions. 

Unofficially known as The Long Ridge Riders, there’s something of a country-ish campfire tinge to the atmosphere they create. Theirs is a duo that works perfectly: they both sing, they both write, David plays most of the difficult bits and Mark does most of the talking!

BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards followed along with critical acclaim. In 2016 Blair released on his own label (Gilded Wings) and received wider acclaim and BBC Radio 2 playlisting for singles  ‘The Egoist’ and ‘356’. Appearances at Glastonbury and the major Folk Festivals followed, along with breakthrough tours of Australia. Blair is now firmly established as a household name amongst respected British songwriters.
